Bearys College of Education Kodi was established in the year 2009.  It is affiliated to Mangalore University and approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The College of Education is a self financed and co-educational institute. The College offers Bachelor of Education course.

This teacher training organization provides high-quality courses transforming aspiring teachers into teaching experts preparing them to confidently face the challenges of the world of globalized teaching. The organization is manned by experienced, prudent and dedicated professionals. A variety of teaching and learning techniques are employed to impart knowledge and skills to students at Bearys College of Education in its various departments.

Our student body reflects a mixture of genders, ethnic groups and ages, with achievers coming from various backgrounds. Students are expected to play a part in their own progress and development so that they can become independent learners with high levels of academic achievement. The institution’s approach aims to develop as fully as possible each pupil’s knowledge, understanding and skills.

Our college empowers the budding teachers to meet the challenges of a younger generation. It will not be out of place to mention that the college aims to intensify its activities in enhancing the quality of education. This has been proved in the final results of B. Ed exam 2009-10 which was 100%. It is also reflected in our performance in achieving three consecutive ranks from Mangalore University within five years of inception of the college.

Principal’s words

“Kasavaravembudu neresairisalarpode para vichara paradharma” epitomizing and preaching the doctrine  of “Tolerance”  – a precept of the Kaviraja Marga  promulgated 12 centuries ago,  is relevant even today. Tolerance is a great value. If it is not attained in education, we cannot respect the diversity. While shaping the unity of thought, unified opinion, and balanced culture, tolerance is the value to be achieved with great difficulty.

The educational institution is a place of worship. Children are the manifest of God. They are the future of the nation. How the teacher moulds the students is how the future of the nation is shaped.  Unequivocally, the teacher is the mentor. To illustrate, during the Ancient Greek Culture, the people of Athens aroused interest in their children about art, culture and literature. Athens became famous as the motherland of art, culture and literature in the world. But the Spartan people gave their children disciplined rigorous army education. The Spartan soldiers emerged as the world’s best disciplined soldiers. Why I am citing this example is to drive home the point that the students who got trained in our educational institution have joined the society as good teachers which is a matter of great delight to us. While some students are in Government Service; some others are in private schools, some of them are in the police department.  They are all spreading the name of the Bearys Institution nationwide.

We aim to make our institution a model institution reflecting and fortifying the morality and culture of the nation to make it an enlightened centre of knowledge and a place of beauty to live in.
